The Bearer
</includeonly>
Thallos, god of strength, encourages his followers to be strong in body and mind, willing to accept and overcome any challenge. He is strangely democratic in this belief, in that the strong should rule, regardless of heritage or title. His clergy tend to be small but influential in most lands, but are extremely prominent in Halgard, where Thallos is the national patron. Worshippers vary from laborers who seek to improve their lot in life to military commanders willing to accept the challenges of war. Though Phemos, God of Sport, is an ally, the friendly competitions between the two are legendary. Thallos’ gravest enemy is Ruminus, God of Disease, and to die of disease in one’s own bed is considered the worst of deaths to Thallean worshippers.

Thallos’ mother, Pelactere, Goddess of Rage, tricked Virtus, God of Courage, into lying with her intending to give birth to a god who would serve her, but Thallos rebelled against his mother, which has put their respective followers at odds.
The Freecity of Neptaris has a long and proud tradition of being the oldest true city on the continent of Duria, even preceding the foundation of Zeth by over a century. Despite its sometimes war-torn history, Neptaris is one of the few states that has actually succeeded in maintaining a democratic government for much of the Third Age of Man. They were able to avoid domination by the slave armies of Lun Dorak during the Mage War, but the population was decimated when the Crimson Plague struck in the final years of the Third Age and trade ground to a standstill. When the Old Gods receded, the city finally fell to chaos as the civil government fell apart. Many of its prominent citizens who survived these dark times fled for Marosh, leaving the city a nearly empty ruin controlled by various gangs squabbling for survival. Only the efforts of a handful of scholars and druids trickling in from Malvetia provided any sense of order and kept the city from being abandoned altogether.

When the Old Gods returned and the few remaining priests in Neptaris again began to receive answers to their prayers, the Supreme Assembly was re-established and trade routes were reopened. Though Neptaris still struggles with the power of its various guilds and gangs still roam certain parts of the city, the people of Neptaris are slowly rebuilding to their former glory.
|geography =Neptaris is located on the eastern shores of the Maroshan Sea, situated between the frontiers of the Daredonia and Danas. The city itself rests on six hills, the crests of which are roughly located at Zepharos Keep, the Estate of House Markos in the Noble District, the Temple of Cthos in the Temple District, Liberty Square in the Merchant’s District, the Mayor’s Residence on Pelligrin Hill, and the middle of Castaway Hill. Gryphon Hill, around which Castle Zepharos was built, is the tallest, topping out at about 120 feet above sea level. The bedrock of these hills is composed primarily of a blue granite (soft for its type), pocketed with limestone. The limestone deposits are constantly being eroded by the water table, and sinkholes are not an uncommon problem in the city. Of course, rumors of large caves and chasms deep beneath the city’s sewers are abound, but as yet are unfounded.

Local flora and fauna are typical for a warm temperate region. The soil in the Territories is generally fertile, though some regions do have problems with infertile ground and low topsoil. The natural forests that exist in the region, particularly in the eastern Territories, are composed primarily of deciduous trees, with confers being common only in regions where clearing and subsequent abandonment has permitted forest regrowth. Trees are of the typical sort found in warm, temperate environments, with oak, maple, cypress, and elm being the most common. Animal life in the region is dominated by a few large predators, including brown bears, lynx, wolves and, along the Krios River, alligators. There are also several species of large herbivores, including whitetail deer and wild boar, but most herbivores are relatively small and harmless.

Neptaris surrounds the Bay of Krios, which is a major source of trade and comestibles for the city. Despite common misconception by foreigners, the Bay of Krios is not fed by the Krios River, the mouth of which is actually about five miles south east of the city. It is a natural, deep-water bay that does not accumulate appreciable amounts of silt from year to year, so maintenance of the waters by the city is relatively easy. It is well protected from the ocean by a short penninsula upon which the Neptars have constructed their lighthouse. That region of the Maroshan sea which is nearest to Neptaris is dominated by a southerly stream which is not so fast that northern trade is made more difficult. The stream does whip around the southern tip of Danas and joins a larger stream there heading eastward and most ships who become lost in this stream do not return.

Once a syndicracy controlled by its powerful Merchant Fleets and Guilds, Nagos was unprepared for the slave armies of Lun Dorak and fell under the might of the Mage-King in the Mage War in the closing decades of the Third Age of Man. After the defeat of the Mage-King, the people of Nagos rose up against not only their wizardly masters, but all who displayed a talent for Hermetic Magic. Though some of the Hermetic Guilds have since made some inroads in appeasing the newly-established monarch of Nagos and trade has recently opened up with the dwarves of the Divian Mountains, Nagos remains fearful of outsiders and Hermetic casters in particular. In some regions, practicing Hermetic Magic is still considered a capital offense, with any practitioners caught in the act summarily burned at the stake by angry mobs.
|history = The history of modern Nagos began a mere three centuries ago, when it separated from the Kingdom of Dunkirk during a brief but violent civil war. The Merchant Princes, tired of the economic ineptitude of the Kingdom, vied for control of the Ulath and Dunshield Rivers, as well as the riches that were found in the northeastern region of the Hills of Ulath. Their independence was finally secured at the Treaty of Gunn in 931 I.C., wherein Dunkirk ceded the land between the Sea of Blades and the Ulath and Dunshield Rivers to a conglomerate of Merchant Princes. Under the leadership of Davor Parn, they successfully created a government wherein each powerful merchant house was permitted one representative to a council which would decide a loose set of laws and determine doctrine for the nation. It was one of the closest efforts any of the former territories of the Empire to approaching the democracy enjoyed during the days of the Republic.

Nagos today, however, has begun to fall under its own weight. Whereas the council was originally composed of the representatives of a mere twenty-four Merchant Houses, it has grown to three hundred and sixteen today, making any decision making an arduous and time-consuming task. Furthermore, many of the Merchant Fleets have turned to piracy in the last fifty years, straining relations with those nations bordering the Sea of Swords. Fortunately, the government doesn't seem too concerned over this weakening of relations, as a recent movement amongst the upper echelons of the government is stressing the complete social and economic independence of Nagos, particularly since the Wars of Conquest in Koramia came so close by forty years ago.
|economy = Nagos is primarily a trading nation, though it has recently begun the rather self-destructive tactic of trading mostly within its own borders. Agricultural capacity is high, both in the fertile Hills of Ulath and along the plains between those hills and the Dunshield River. Regardless of these verdant lands, agricultural business interests are viewed as lower- classed, dirty work, not suited for a powerful Merchant Prince, and, thus, have little sway in the government. Mining interests are becoming more and more increasingly powerful in the Hills of Ulath, particularly since the discovery of gold near the headwaters of the Ulath river, which has sent the economy of the Hills into turmoil, and brought a great many Merchant Houses whose primary interest is mining into power in the government. The Merchant Fleets, however, still retain control, for now, though Prince Zaratos, their current head, is having great difficulty in maintaining that control. There are rumors that the Mining Houses have begun preparing for all out war, but no evidence has yet arose to prove this.
|religion = The church of Taltos, the Deepdweller, is one of the strongest religious influences on Nagos (particularly amongst the Merchant Fleets), though religious freedom is surprisingly strong in Nagos. The worship of Minos has always been strong among the Merchant Princes, and Britomaris has gained no small amount of followers since some of the Merchant Princes began to turn to less moral economic practices. The Prince himself, however, is a worshiper of Betshaba, and has begun a quiet campaign to remove the church of Taltos from the nation altogether, without causing a religious war in the process. Few truly believe, however, that Betshaba will gain any serious hold on the community unless some serious social changes occur. Since the discovery of gold in the Hills of Ulath, the worship of Baelthor and Enosigaois has been on the uprise, though such divided worship has kept the Mining Houses from making any serious concerted effort to overthrow the power of the Merchant Fleets.
The Merchant Princes, tired of the economic ineptitude of the Kingdom, vied for control of the Ulath River and Dunshield River, as well as the riches that were found in the northeastern region of the Hills of Ulath. Their independence was finally secured at the Treaty of Gunn in 931 I.C., wherein Dunkirk ceded the land between the Sea of Swords and the Ulath and Dunshield Rivers to a conglomerate of Merchant Princes.

Formerly the gleaming gem of Duria, Koramia was likely the nation most deeply affected by events that brought the Third Age of Man to a close and ushered in the chaos of the Dark Times. Despite coming to dominate the entirety of the Divian Peninsula under the legendary King William I Greysword, Koramia fractured when it became the main battleground for the Mage War. Despite successfully allying with the elves of the Webwood, the orcs of Vor Midal and even their old enemies in Illyria to defeat the Mage-King, Koramia was left in shambles and was unprepared when the orcish horde turned on them after the war. In the wake of the orcish horde, Koramia found itself without a clear heir to the throne, unable to maintain control over rebellious Norlund and with a large number of Imperial troops still stranded in their borders, forming the nation of Ciritasnia.

Despite this chaos, many scholars have come to believe that 'something' happened in the capital of Paeldain around 1361 I.C. that ushered in the return of the Old Gods and the Tuatha de Dannan to Creation, heralding the start of the Fourth Age of Man. Though there is little factual evidence to back this up, the Koramian Civil War came to a close with a Greysword on the throne, the errant nation of Dunkirk reaffirmed its allegiance to the Crown and Koramia allied with the soldiers of Ciritasnia to remove the orcs of the Orcish Wastes from the Divian Peninsula.
|geography = The Kingdom of Koramia is a large nation; in fact, it is one of the largest in all of Feyworld, covering over 625,000 square miles. The land is a peninsula, bordered to the north and west by the Endless Sea, and to the south by the Maroshan and Pirates' Seas. To the east, it is bordered by the kingdoms of Illyria, Medea, Pelusia, Nagos, and, to the south-east, the See of Cambrecia. The coastal plains are large, eventually breaking into rolling hills and rising to the majestic and dangerous Divian Mountains.

The south-eastern arm of Koramia is a fertile and warm land, enjoying a mere two months of winter and five months of summer. The coastal plains rise up to meet the rolling Hills of Ulath, which is divided by the Ulath River, Koramia's border with Nagos. The primary crops in this area are grapes, which provide a generally soothing white wine, grains, and some of the more hardy fruit trees. There are also a few rich veins of silver ore and rubies in the Hills of Ulath, which are mined year-round. The ground is known for its fertile red mud, which can often turn the rivers a deep maroon in the wet spring months.

In the south-central region of Koramia, the weather is somewhat cooler, with three months of a usually temperate winter and three months of warm summer. This area tends to be a bit dryer than most other parts of Koramia, due to the shielding effect of the Divian Mountains. Grains and roots are the primary food crops, though there are many manorial villages which specialize in apples. The hobbits who reside in the area often grow a type of plant atypical to their nature, which provides for their rather smooth and flavorful pipeweed. The Pipeweed plant is typically difficult to harvest correctly, and messy to prepare, but the typically indolent hobbits harvest it with glee. Sheep farming is the predominant agricultural interest in the foothills of the Divian mountains, producing a tender and tasty meat. There is some gold and silver veins running through the foothills, though copper is, by far, the predominant mining interest.

The western region of Koramia tends to be cold and wet, though it rarely experiences extremely harsh winters. The summer months are few, though the planting and harvesting seasons are long. Grains and roots are the staple crops, though the major agricultural product of the area are grapes, specially bred for the harsher climate, which produce a deep and rich red wine enjoyed throughout both the northern lands and the Empire to the south. The foothills of the Divian mountains in this area are known for their lack of precious metals, but abundance of a strong red granite, which is used in the construction of everything from homes to castles, but is too hard and brittle to be used in sculpture and more delicate artwork.

The northern regions of Koramia are have a harsh and infertile landscape, with bluestone granite often poking through the thin topsoil. Sheep farming is the predominant agricultural interest of the area, particularly for the wool that they produce. The coastal areas are typically rocky and ill-suited to shipping, so trade in the area is low. The weather is often harsh and cold, snow covering some areas well into spring. The planting season is short, and typically extremely difficult to plan for, as the time for planting and harvesting can pass within mere days. The bluestone of the area is used primarily for the construction of castles, though there is a strong presence of malachite in the foothills used for sculpture and other arts.

The Divian mountains, which bisect the nation, are believed to have a wealth of precious metals within. However, the inaccessibility of the mountains, coupled with the bandits and less-savory creatures who roam the deep valleys often make mining either impossible or unprofitable. Most of the mountains, particularly in the northern regions, are snow covered year round, and the seclusion of its valleys make agricultural interests impossible. There are only two known passes through the Divian Mountains, the Dragon Pass, which begins just north of Paeldain and travels through to the easternmost regions of the Earldom of Norlund, and the Western Pass, which begins northwest of Paeldain and opens up into the Earldoms of Estoria and Forthshire.

Rivers
There are six major river systems within Koramia. The longest of the six, the Galforth River, is fed from the melting snow of the western Divian Mountains, and travels slowly between the Earldoms of Forthshire and Schalshire before finally reaching the Vascian Delta in the Earldom of Vascore. It is navigable for much of its length, from the foothills of the Divian Mountains out to the Endless Sea, and is used for trade throughout the Northwestern regions of Koramia. The Galforth is known for its peculiar species of salmon, which are harvested in late spring and shipped throughout the Northwestern regions of Koramia.

The Angulls River, which is fed from the southwestern Divian Mountains, rushes through Estoria, and provides the borders for the Earldoms of Schalshire and Nordarish, Nordarish and Markhamshire, and Markhamshire and Harkshire. It is navigable only as far as the border of Estoria, though this is far enough to provide great assistance to the shipping interests of the area. The river is known to flood during the late spring, as the snow of the Divian Mountains begin to melt, and many low-lying regions along its shore in Nordarish and Markhamshire can become swampland for as long as a months' time, destroying any crops which may have been planted on these floodplains.

Through the capital city of Paeldain runs the Waite River, which begins deep within the central Divian Mountains, cutting the Dragon Pass though the mountains. It is a quick river, full of many rapids for most of its length, until reaching the lower foothills, where it becomes wide, deep, and somewhat sluggish. Shipping interests seeking to trade with the Earldoms on the northern side of the Dragon Pass often use the Waite to cut down the overland shipping costs, instead of unloading their product in Paeldain and shipping it north.

The Ulath River runs from deep within the Hills of Ulath, feeding into the Cabre River to the southeast, along Koramia's border with Nagos. The river is deep, though fast and unforgiving, for most of its route, though there are some calmer areas near its headwaters where the waters are slow enough to pan for precious metals. Strangely enough, the Ulath River seems to be heavily lacking in fish, a mystery which has puzzled sages for centuries. Some rumors suggest a creature, living beneath the waters, which feeds on the bottom-dwelling fish of the river; some legends even go so far as to say that once it has completely depleted the animal population of the river, it shall rise up and start consuming the land-based wildlife, including humans.

The border of Koramia and Medea is identified by the Velusian River, which begins in the north eastern Divian Mountains, and runs a lazy course through the plans of Medea, finally dumping into the Endless Sea along Koramia's border with Illyria. The Velusian River is a slow and wide river, that often floods in the late summer months. These floods, however, are usually brief, and provide the typically infertile landscape with much-needed new soil. Agricultural interests in Medea have begun to use Imperial methods of irrigation, constructing large aqueducts which conduct the waters of the upper Velusian from the foothills of the Divian Mountains into its western regions. Some Koramians believe that this has recently begun curbing the wealth of fertile soil that the river once brought all the way to the Endless Sea, and have voiced serious objections to the Medean irrigation projects.

The Red River begins in the central southern regions of the Divian Mountains, fed primarily by melting snow from the mountains. Thus, during the early spring months, the river is full and wide, but often dries to a mere creek in some areas during the autumn and winter months, making it unnavigable for most of its length for most of the year. The river gains its name from the red mud that it picks up along its banks, making the river appear somewhat maroon or brown during the spring. There are few fish in the Red River, though frogs and turtles are unusually abundant along its banks.

Weather
Koramia tends to have winds which blow southeasterly from the Endless Sea, chilling its northern regions most of the year. The Divian mountains provide a buffer for the southern and southeastern regions of the nation, which are also warmed by the currents of the Maroshan and Pirates' Seas. This creates a striking contrast between those lands north and south of the Divian mountains, making the northern areas cold and wet and the southern areas warm and dryer, excepting in the southeastern arm of Koramia, where the winds pick up moisture from the Maroshan Sea and provide much rainfall. In the north, winters can typically last for as many as five months, with summer lasting only two months. The southern regions enjoy a more typical seasonal distribution, while the southeastern regions have shorter winters and longer summers.

Oceans
The Endless Sea to the north of Koramia is typically gray and cold, though icebergs rarely float as far south as the northern coast. Currents move somewhat sluggishly in this region, moving easterly across the northern coast. Coastal regions are typically rocky and shallow, resulting in an inhospitable environment for shipping. The Maroshan Sea, along Koramia's southeastern coast, brings strong, warm currents from the south to the coastal regions. This, coupled with the deep inlets and bays along the southeastern coast, makes shipping an almost pleasurable affair. Strong southerly winds and strong northerly currents also greatly assist naval interests from either the Empire to the south or central Koramia to the north. The Pirate's Sea, along Koramia's southern coast, still retains the warmth of the Maroshan Sea, quickly loses its warmth as its currents leave the Koramian shore and travel southward around Stormwind Isle. The great storms and rough oceans of the Pirate's Sea are not particularly conducive to merchant shipping, which makes the region a safer harbor for pirates.

Wildlife
Wildlife in the southeastern regions of Koramia is typically abundant, with deer, wild horses, and bobcats not being uncommon along the plains, and wolves, deer and bats being common in the Ulath hills. Southern Koramia has abundant deer, wolves and wild boar, while the foothills of the Divian mountains are home to many wild sheep, eagles and other birds of prey. The western regions have large herds of deer and even some moose herds in its northern reaches, along with small hunting birds and not a few hawks. It is not rare to see whales off its coastal regions during the winter months, enjoying the warmer waters before returning north during the summer. The northern regions are somewhat lacking in wildlife, with wolves being the dominant species, both numerically and territorially, feeding off the small and scattered herds of moose and caribou which travel the region. Whales are commonplace off the northern coast, as are some seals basking in the sun along the rocky coasts. The Divian Mountains have many different species of large hunting birds, wolves, and wild goats, and there are even rumors of more than one dragon hunting its high peaks.
|history = The Kingdom of Koramia is barely a century old, but the society is much, much older. The area was originally composed of several small barbarian kingdoms, such as Simmeria in the east, Tracinia in the south, and Norlund in the north, just to name a few of the more powerful kingdoms. In -123 IC, the Tracini sent a messenger to Zeth in the hopes of purchasing experienced mercenaries to fight a petty war against a neighboring kingdom. The messenger described the despair with which the Tracini were fighting, and the Senate decided to commit troops to the defense of the Tracini if they would pay a specific amount of taxes, in goods, to Zeth. The terms were very amicable, and the Zetian legions soon arrived on the Tracini shores.

It didn't take long for that forgotten neighbor of the Tracini to be decimated and annexed into Tracinia, and the Zetian troops continued to march into other neighboring territories. Soon, the Tracini, as a whole, were considered by Marcus Argentis, the Count of the Tracini Shore, to be his clients. He continued to other lands north and west of the Tracini, and eventually attained the title of Duke of the Simmerians. This treatment of an entire nation as a client and his actions to make his troops loyal to him and not to the Senate or State was one of many factors considered to have led to the downfall of the Zetian Republic.

Soon after Octavius of House Zetar was proclaimed the first Emperor of Zeth, he established a system of colonization amongst the states that were formerly considered Allies of Zeth. He appointed a governor to oversee the Simmerian people to insure the collection of taxes and the enforcement of Imperial rule. As a whole, the people either were too far away to feel the real effects of Imperial rule, or they encouraged and enjoyed the 'civilization' that Imperial rule provided. Most of the governors appointed were somewhat ineffectual, though intermingling with stationed legionaries provided for a mixture of societies.

Simmerian society survived under Imperial rule, but it was not a strong force in the world until one fateful day in 186 IC when a young man, reputed to have been the direct descendant of the last Simmerian king, discovered a flying ship near his hillside home. He found a way to board the floating vessel, and discovered that it was uninhabited and rotting. Within the vessel, however, he discovered the rotting corpse of some sort of noble man of an alien culture, with a book clasped roughly in his skeletal hands. The boy, Garimund of Ryard, took the book to scholars, who pondered over it's meaning and language. Eventually, they deciphered that it was a holy book of the deity Vortumnus, god of honor and chivalry, and promoted him as being lord of all gods, even over Ptharos. The boy became Garimund the Sainted, and he began to spread the word of Vortumnus across the land. The religion caught on with the people like wildfire, and soon they began to refer to themselves, as a religious group, as Koramians, after the name of their holy work, the Koram. With the Koram as their inspiration, the Simmerian people began to truly flower as a society; in some respects, such as in the area of chivalry and feudalism, they shined even brighter than the Empire itself.

Also in 186, a group of Imperial legionaries were ambushed and slaughtered to the man, by a mysterious group of people from across the Antosian mountain range. These savage people, known then as the Narbars, provided Zeth with its greatest enemy since its conflicts with Cardos during the days of the Republic. The Narbar people fought savagely against an unprepared Empire, and, after ten years of fighting, a small outpost in what was formerly Norlund was abandoned as the troops headed back to defend Zeth. It would be the first of many legions ordered home in the name of defending the Empire. Eventually, the Narbars were defeated and pacified, but Imperial troops remained to keep the peace and insure no further uprisings. When an old enemy of the Narbars, the Mitarians, rose up to wage war against their old enemy, the Imperial troops counterattacked and quickly took the Mitarian capital. Soon thereafter, tacitly trying to insure no invader could threaten Zeth again, they continued to move inland, and pulled troops out of the seemingly pacified Simmeria to facilitate this move.

Chaos followed in Simmeria whenever troops departed as warring and feuding factions vied for control over the weapons and fortifications left behind, as well as for the responsibility and pleasures of command. Finally, in 628, the last two groups of legionaries left in the old province of Simmeria proclaimed independence from the Empire, signifying the end of Imperial rule in Simmeria. The centuries that followed were filled with war and desolation as various power groups and individuals vied for control over ever-smaller parcels of land. Orcs slipped in from Vor Midal and the Webwood forest, and, with the giants who had been beaten almost to extinction in the mountains, raided the wealthy human and hobbit agricultural settlements heartlessly. As the Empire's grip strengthened in the south, Simmeria wallowed in petty warfare. It was during this time of confusion and conflict that the original Koram was stolen. Copious copies existed, but the original was never recovered.

In 1162, a son was born to the Lord Earl of the southern city of Paeldain, and named William Greysword, after his grandfather. This son assumed his title of Lord Earl of Paeldain at the age of 18, and one of his first actions was to eradicate the various warring religions in the city and re-establish the Koramic code amongst the lower classes (the upper class had clung to it for quite some time). By 1173, William made a case before the Supreme Assembly of Paeldain that he was the direct descendant of Andros, the brother of Garimund the Sainted, and therefore not a mere Lord Earl, but a monarch. In an extremely close vote, the Supreme Assembly dubbed the young Lord Earl William I, King of Paeldain and Lord Protector of the Koramic code. William I sent priests, under the direction of the Prelate of Paeldain, out to neighboring kingdoms, in an attempt to convert the populous back to the Koramic code and end the endless warfare his people seemed to be caught up in. Some of his neighbors considered his priests to be spies, and had them executed as such. William's retribution for this crime was quick and final. He executed not only the lords who had ordered the executions, but the executioners themselves, and confiscated the lands of those lords he had executed.

The night after he had tried and executed 20 nobles for crimes against Vortumnus, William had a dream in which he was transported back to the days of Simmeria, when chivalry was flowering its brightest and the nation was whole. He was told by Vortumnus himself that he could unify the land, bring it under one king, and give it life again, or he could doom it through inaction to eternal warfare and destruction. The next day, William began to march with his troops across the coastal fields of Koramia, either forcing petty rulers to vow fealty to him with the sword, or, more often than not, used diplomacy and guile to convince them to join his cause. The first nation to ally under the Greysword banner was Charles Crownwarden, King of the nation of Firthham. He pledged himself to the Greysword's cause, becoming the Earl of Firthhamshire.

Within a five year period, William I had conquered most of the southern coast of Simmeria, including the nations of Dunkirk, Sarworth, Calmirsha, Tracinia, Kirthdan, Collochia, Harkworth, Nordaria, Estoria, and Markham. Unfortunately, one of his most powerful allies, the Prelate of Paeldain, died in 1201. The Emperor, in his role as Pontifex Maximus, sent an Imperial man to take up the powerful position as the Prelate of Paeldain, but, upon his arrival, he discovered that the Prelatal Estate was already being inhabited, by an individual chosen by William himself. The nominee was outraged by this blatant disregard of the Emperor as the voice of the gods themselves, but found little assistance among the local priesthoods of Vortumnus. The nominee fled, and the Emperor made no real protest, so Urbanus became the First Prelate of Vortumnus, and King William I made a vocal and very public denunciation of the Emperor and the Imperial pantheon as being heretical in nature to Vortumnus. The Emperor never recognized William's proclamation of independence or his claim to the right to select clergymen, but neither did he oppose it.

William continued his conquests, absorbing Vascore, Fortan, and the Schal. In 1208, he was crowned William I, King of Koramia by the Prelate of Paeldain, and proclaimed himself and his descendants monarchs over the new Kingdom of Koramia by right of divine selection by Vortumnus. William I died three years later, at the age of 49, after conquering the Iceni and Norlunders of the northernmost coasts (the former of which so repulsed the aging King that he refused to name one of his Earldoms in memory of it). His first son was crowned William II upon his father’s death. William I had succeeded in unifying all of the former states of the province of Simmeria, excepting the mountainous regions in the center of the nation to which the surviving bandits, orcs and giants fled, and the nations of Nagos, Pelusia, Medea and Illyria. Nagos and Pelusia made agreements with the young King William II to ensure their sovereignty, and Medea made an implicit agreement not to interfere with the ongoing war with Illyria. For almost forty years, the Illyrian front was the only border in Koramia that experienced constant warfare, and most young nobles did some time working in the cavalry there. Koramia was slowly winning the war, but at a terrible cost. Illyria was composed of stubborn and highly independent people (descendant from the Norlunders), and the majority would have rather died than surrender to what they considered to be a foreign King. But in the middle of the 13th century, they would find themselves doing precisely that.

In 1250 I.C., while Koramia seemed to be in the height of its glory, the Emperor of Zeth commanded his navy to reassume control over their former colony. Unbenknownst to most in Koramia, the Empire had settled its difficulties with the Gaels in their souther territories and looked to the reconquest of Koramia as their next great victory. The Empire offered an alliance to Illyria, who was all too willing to submit to the terms of an Imperial alliance if it meant the end of their war with Koramia. And, of course, the See of Cambrecia, long loyal to the Empire, sent troops into southeastern Koramia to assist in the reconquest. When the Imperial ships landed on Koramia’s southern shores, King William II was relatively unprepared, with the vast majority of his fighting force in the north on the Illyrian front.

While William II quickly pulled his troops from the north, a young Koramian noblewoman revealed herself to be the heir to the old Iceni dynasty and secretly proclaimed herself Queen Claudia Arox of the Iceni. The Iceni people quickly rose to join her cause, further weakening Koramian efforts against the three-pronged Imperial offensive. It seemed that Koramia, despite the successes of the past, would certainly fall quickly to the Emperor’s aggressions.

It was during Koramia’s darkest hour that her founder, King William I, returned to Paeldain with the Iceni Queen in tow as an ally. King William I had, indeed, died forty years before, but he had been resurrected by the will of Vortumnus and had lived out his years as a hermit in the Divian Mountains. Renewed to youth by equally mystic means, William I returned to lead his people against the Empire. With recently forged alliances with both a clan of giants and the dwarves of the Divian mountains, Imperial victory no longer seemed as certain. Events were transpiring in the Empire, however, that would lead not only to the fall of Koramia, but send the entire region into turmoil for the next six decades.

Before the Koramian War, a newcomer to Zeth named Lucius arrived from foreign shores and revealed himself as the Potens Maximus of Abaris (the Empire had been without an Abarisian Potens Maximus for centuries). Furthermore, Lucius was able to show lineage in House Zetar, through a minor branch that had moved to Koramia centuries before. It was Lucius who urged the Emperor to attack Koramia and quickly became his closest advisor. Even so, when the Emperor’s only heir died in 1252, it was still a scandal when Lucius was named heir to the Imperial throne.

Prince Lucius asked to assist in the faltering war effort in Koramia and the Emperor agreed to send him to the front. Under Lucius’ command, the Imperial army regrouped and finally marched on Paeldain. In the Second Battle of Paeldain, Lucius lead the Imperial armies to a stunning victory. By the end of the battle, not only was the Koramian capital city firmly in Imperial hands, but most of the Greysword family was dead on the battlefield, including both William I and II.

Ayric Greysword, a young son of William I’s brother, was determined to be next in line for the Koramian Crown, but Ayric refused the crown. Ayric had been kidnapped by his own mother from the Royal Castle some twenty years earlier and was not raised in the Royal Household. This, coupled with crippling injuries he had received in the Illyria War, were the reasons he gave for surrendering the crown. Unfortunately, no one quite realized at the time the repercussions that this decision would have for Koramia’s future.

The crown then fell to Gawyn Asheva, husband of Ayric’s eldest sister. Asheva, who was Earl of Margwenth, had been extremely active in leading troops against the Empire and was a well respected commander. Despite King Gawyn’s military acumen, Prince Lucius was able to counter his every move and Koramia continued to lose territory to Imperial forces.

When the Zetian Emperor died late in 1252, Lucius quickly assumed his role as Emperor and was crowned in the field in Koramia. It was at his coronation that he revealed himself as Lucasa, Mage-King of Lun Dorak. He ordered the Imperial capital moved from Zeth to the Sapphire City and quickly began to establish the Mages of Lun Dorak as leaders within the Empire. Lucasa, who would be known as Emperor Lucius “The Heretic” in the Empire, retired to the Saphhire City to rule while his forces in Koramia continued to clean up King Gawyn’s remaining forces. Lucasa, well aware of the treachery he faced both from his new subjects and his enemies, became increasingly secluded.

As Lucasa was on the brink of victory, the Order of the Brilliant Lance arrived to fight against his aggressions. These Dragonknights quickly helped stabilize the Koramian front and then turned their attention on the Saphhire City itself. As they lay siege to the city with a combined Koramian, Illyrian and even an orcish horde. The Dragonknights succeeded in assaulting the Sapphire City, but as they reached the Mage-King, it became obvious why he had become secluded. The Mage-King had fallen to a mysterious disease and succumbed to the disease in the very presence of the Dragonknights.

With Lucasa dead, the Fourth Succession War flared in the Empire and few there were any longer interested in The Heretic Emperor’s foreign war. King Gawyn began the long task of rebuilding his fractured nation. Though its Queen had long since disappeared, Icenia was still rebellious against the Koramian Crown and a legion of Imperial troops remained stranded in Koramia, intent on presenting it as a prize to whatever Emperor emerged from the Fourth Succession War. King Gawyn was able to re-establish control of much of the region near Koramia before a new conqueror arrived to bring new terror to his people.

Gar’dun, Great Khan of Vor Midal and one of the allies who had fought with Koramia at the Sapphire City found himself with thousands of loyal orcs and no enemy to fight. His alliance with Koramia at an end with the defeat of the Mage-King, Gar’dun turned his armies west. The Horde quickly overran Illyria, which had suffered almost as much as Koramia in the wars., and turned its attentions on the remnants of Koramia itself. For reasons still unknown, Gar’dun reached the border of Icenia and turned his Horde southward, though the Divian Mountains and towards Paeldain itself.

Paeldain’s defenses were weak, but still the people of the city held out for two weeks while Gar’dun’s forces besieged the city. But finally, the unstoppable Horde broke through Paeldain’s walls and sacked the city in 1256. King Gawyn was killed during the fighting and it is said his skull was tied to Gar’dun’s war chariot, resting ironically next to the skull of the Illyrian king. Gawyn’s young son, William, was crowned King William III and spirited away to a secret enclave in the Divian Mountains.

The nation now leaderless, Gar’dun, now known as “Kingslayer,” took his horde into southeastern Koramia before turning northwestward. Over the course of the next five years, Gar’dun’s horde all but destroyed what remained of Koramia. The Horde finally faltered in 1261 in western Koramia, when Gar’dun died from extreme old age (he was sixty at the time of his death, almost twice the normal lifespan of an orc). Instead of choosing a new Khan and continuing their conquest, the orcish Horde fell to infighting and instead remained in western Koramia, renaming it Vor Scheral.

King William III returned to Paeldain, but did not have much time to attempt to reorganize his dying kingdom. In 1262, the Crimson Plague finally reached Koramia, killing off more than a third of the population over the next two years. The eight-year old child-king proved weak and ineffectual in the face of such a tragedy. His advisors fell to bickering and little was done to alleviate the pain of his subjects. In 1263, the gates of Paeldain itself were closed (a symbolic gesture at best, due to the dilapidated nature of its defenses) and military rule was established to prevent the spread of plague in the city.

As the plague passed, several rebellions sprung up against William III’s rule. To the north, Norlund, which now included the former Kingdom of Illyria, asserted its independence and Dunkirk followed suit in in the south in 1265. Meanwhile, in Icenia, the First King, Aelric, was reborn as an undead lord and over the next decade reestablished his rule over the region. Koramia was whittled down to barely a fifth of its former size, mainly centered near Paeldain.

Though there had been periodic peasant rebellions even near Paeldain, in 1275 they finally found their voice. Chadric Greysword, son of Ayric, claimed that his father and grandmother had been victims of a conspiracy and claimed William III was a pretender to the throne. Disaffected Koramians flocked to Chadric’s banner. Most significantly, elements within the Koramian Church of Vortumnus also flocked to his banner, despite protestations of the Prelate of Paeldain. In 1277, Chadric was crowned King of Koramia by one of his Archbishops and the nation quickly polarized around the the kings.

Despite now being in the broils of a formal civil war, Koramia saw few battles between the two King’s forces. Both Kings simply did not have the resources to field a large army and most conflicts were restricted to small skirmishes. But the Civil War ensured that Koramia would not be able to even consider retaking her former territories. If it weren’t for the troubles her neighbors were facing, it is likely Koramia would have long since fallen.

Koramia today is still divided along lines loyal to King Chadric and King William III. Despite the Civil War having lasting thirty-five years, there is little likelihood that either side will capitulate while both Kings and their heirs still live. And the Koramian people will also continue to suffer under the unfailing egos of their kings.
|economy = Koramia was primarily an agricultural kingdom, but decades of war and plague have completely destroyed that economy. Most people, even in the larger cities, have turned to barter for manufactured items and the usage of coinage is extremely rare. Primary crops includes wheat, barley, and corn. Fishing is, of course, a strong trade along the southern coast. Beef is not a popular food, as cattle are more often used as laborers than grown for food, but sheep are particularly popular as livestock, especially in the foothills of the Divian Mountains. There is evidence of fantastic lodes of precious metals in the Divian Mountains, but most are inaccessible, due to the bandits and unsavory monsters who continue to plague the region.
|religion = Worship of Vortumnus once dominated Koramia, but worship of the God of Honor has been decreasing in the last few decades. Too many people feel that Vortumnus has abandoned them and instead turn to Podalirius in the hopes that he will bring them crop enough to survive the next winter. Even the Great Cathedral of Vortumnus in Paeldain now lies abandoned and the Prelate has moved into the King’s castle, where he holds mainly private ceremonies for King William III and his guests. |
The mysterious Webwood lies north of the Sea of Blades, east of Illyria and Dakra and west of Vor Midal. The forest is primarily boreal in the north, though the forest quickly shifts into a temperate broadleaf forest in the south, where the cold northern winds have less sway over the climate. Elk and caribou are fairly common in the north, particularly along the edges of the forest, near the grasslands of Illyria. Walruses are common along the rocky northern coast and whales are often seen near the coast in the summer months. The southern forest is dominated by great grizzly bears, usually found along the floodplains of the Danural River, and hives of giant spiders along the forest edge that give the forest its name. These giant spiders are the apex predators of the Webwood... wolves are extremely rare and there are rumors that those wolves who did live in the Webwood were

The Webwood is one of the remaining hereditary territories of the elves, though the forest itself was almost wiped out in recent memory. After the defeat of Lun Dorak at the conclusion of the Mage War, the orcs of Vor Midal turned on their allies and began a conquest of the Divian Peninsula. Unfortunately, the elves of the Webwood were directly in the path of the orcish horde. Much of the forests south of the Danural River were burned as the horde moved through and most of elven civilization in the Webwood was destroyed. Many of those elves who survived began a diaspora into neighboring human nations that were at least semi-friendly with the elves. Though some stalwarts remained in the Webwood and have worked to regrow their ravaged woods, it is generally believed that about three fifths of the surviving elven population chose to leave their ancestral lands and have yet to return.
The world of Baltheron is known to possess at least three continents, situated around the Betshaban Ocean. The continent of Duria lies to the northeast, Aurea to the northwest and the continent of Gallorea across the south. There are rumors of other continents to the east and south, but there are no truly reliable reports of travelers reaching those lands and returning to tell the tale.

Baltheron is about 60% larger than our own and the known world spans from arctic climates to the Equator, which runs just along the southern shores of Gallorea. The northern hemisphere, at least in the known world, tends to be a bit more temperate than our own world, with only a few rainforests along the southern side of Gallorea and a thin band of taiga along the northern continents.

The tallest mountains are in the Peaks of the Wyrm in southeastern Gallorea, though very few, if any, travelers have found the mystic peaks that rise so high to the firmament. The largest swamp is Vagorosh along the southern shore of Gallorea and the longest mountain range is a combination of the Janos Mountains and the Hshron Mountains. The largest forest are the forests of Ywys on the cold northern shores of Aurea.

Volcanic activity tends to be rare; there are volcanoes on the islands of Tamerynd, Stormward and Harshwind near Duria. The Greenmist Mountains and the Peaks of Dreg'nor have several active volcanoes. There have been volcanoes elsewhere, but scholars believe that most of those were the result of magical or even deital intervention.

Baltheron's crust tends to be cracked and honeycombed with extensive tunnels and caverns, particularly in mountainous regions. There are six regions that are particularly porous, each of which is inhabited by a dwarven kingdom: Derlos beneath the Cambrecian Mountains, Eisenhallen beneath the Paelusian Mountains, Gundag beneath the Divian Mountains, Nuithone beneath Valtaan, Unterreich deep beneath the Antasian Mountains and Valdal beneath the Janos Mountains (which also now claims Valduran on the surface as part of its kingdom). Somewhere, now lost even to the dwarves, is the ancient kingdom of Karazan. There are rumors of other places beneath the surface that have extensive cavernworks, some of which are inhabited by strange sentient creatures, some by even more terrible monsters or even dragons.
Baltheron is about 60% larger than our own and the known world spans from arctic climates to the Equator, which runs just along the southern shores of Gallorea. Baltheron's crust tends to be cracked and honeycombed with extensive tunnels and caverns, particularly in mountainous regions. Somewhere, now lost even to the dwarves, is the ancient kingdom of Karazan. <big>Welcome Traveller!</big>

The dreaded Dark Times are over and the fight to shape the destiny of the Fourth Age of Man has begun.

War, strife and plague has shattered the great kingdoms of Baltheron into pale shards of their former potency. Sprawling cities that once upheld the tenants of truth and justice have fallen into ruin, a gangrenous sore upon the land. Armies of common folk who fought against any odds for their freedoms have decayed under the leadership of petty warlords interested more in keeping their coffers full than aspiring to the greatness of their forefathers. Once proud citadels of relentless order have crumbled before the inexorable might of political squabbling and failed judgment. Even powerful nations that prided themselves on their strength of arms and cunning in battle have become little more than manged dogs nipping off the scraps that slough from the corpse of society.

The Third Age of Man died less than a century ago. None at that time realized the chain of events that would lead to the Dark Times and certainly none could prevent it. In distant Donnagh Saoristat, peace was established between the Great Empire and the Gaels of the north when a dark army swept across the region, threatening to destroy all in their path. Heroes came forth, as they often do in times of strife, and helped bring two dissonant people to agreement. The dark horde was defeated and Man coexisted in a new-found peace. But as with so many men who must rise to the clarion call of conquest, the Great Empire only used this peace to redirect their attentions eastward, towards prodigal Koramia.

Koramia had finally achieved the union it had sought for so long. Under the banner of Vortumnus and the Greysword lineage, it seemed destined for the glory of ages past and, for a brief flicker in time, it achieved that former greatness. Then the black-sailed ships came. With Koramia again prosperous and conflicts in the Empire settled, the Legions returned to reclaim their former colonies on Duria. Few realized then, least of all the Emperor, that this one war would not only cost the Double Dragon its claim on Duria, but lead to the final destruction of the Empire as a whole. Even fewer realized that its destruction would come from within.

A native born of Koramia, the Mage-King of Lun Dorak, Lucasa, wrested control over the Empire and urged it further into the war with Koramia. Dubbed “the Heretic,” Lucasa ruled the Empire with an iron fist, enslaving its population to the whims of the Dorakian Mages and pushing ever harder for victory at any cost. Only through the intervention of the Dragonknights and the unexpected death of the Mage-King in the wretched throws of disease did his mad scheme fail. But now, those who recollect look back and wonder if his rule would have been preferable to the times that followed. For the Heretic Emperor had not only succeeded in throwing Koramia into ruin, but left behind a power vacuum in the Great Empire, which quickly succumbed to their Fourth, and likely last, Succession War.

Then in the ancient south, an evil greater than any this world had known rose from another world and buried his sword deep in all of us. The Manslayer incited the armies of Thet to march recklessly on its neighbors, encouraged Bakal to take back lands that once were theirs and caused countless petty conflicts and civil wars to arise across Old Gallorea, all in the attempt to obfuscate his horrific plans. In the final moments before his plan reached culmination, the Manslayer was defeated by a band of heroes and the world saved from destruction.

But the damage was done. The Manslayer’s broken schemes and forgotten provocations shook many cultures to their very core. Society, already fragile from over a decade of conflict, crumbled beneath their own weight. Even those nations who were not disrupted directly by the Manslaer’s plans fell pretty to bickering when trade began to slow and, in some places, ceased altogether. The Crimson Plague, believed to have been mystically engineered by the Manslayer, raged across Old Gallorea and quickly made its way to Duria and Aurea, killing a third of humanity. Kingdoms shrank and Empires crumbled, leaving large tracts of wilderness where the corrupt or the bestial could lay in wait to prey on the remains of society. Creatures never before seen on the face of Baltheron (or beneath it) ravaged its people and raised their lands. Though the Manslayer could not succeed in conquering our lands, his legacy was the chaos that still roils across the Three Continents.

For reasons that are still unclear, the Old Gods receded from the world and Baltheron plunged into the Third Interannum... the Dark Times. Abandoned by the Gods that had created them, Man turned on himself in a bloody attempt to find purpose. Amidst war and disease, the ancient order of Druids returned from their hermitage among the savage Gaels hiding in the remote corners of the world. Man was eager to accept the wisdom of the Druids and knowledge of their gods, the once-mortal Tuatha de Dannan, began to spread across the world. Those few scholars who retained knowledge of history knew that the previous Interannums had lasted centuries and, with only the ancient and dim light of the Druids to guide them, much of Man lost hope that they would live to see the Fourth Age... if it were ever to come.

As terrible as they were, the Dark Times only lasted four decades.

As abruptly and inexplicably as they had departed, the Old Gods returned to the world, again lending their power to the few priests who had remained loyal to the old ways. For the first time in the historic record, Druids and priests were actively competing for the hearts and souls of Man. Though this competition was quite civil in most regions, in some places the conflict grew violent, throwing some Men into holy wars. Meanwhile, the Mage Guilds of Old Gallorea began to establish chapterhouses on Aurea and Duria, promising to focus practitioners on scholarly pursuits instead of conquering nations. Though distrust of wizards and particularly sorcerers was still predominant, the Guilds worked tirelessly to prove that wizards were a useful and beneficial part of society.

In the sixty years since the return of the Gods, Man has struggled to re-establish itself and forge a new destiny. With the Peace of Gundagor still holding, dwarves continue to travel from their deep mountain kingdoms to trade with and become a part of the surface world. The Elven Diaspora on Duria has even thrust elves back into the greater society with strange and often horrifying results as they struggle to redefine themselves. Orcs remain an ever-present threat, contained in their lands until another Great Khan rises to bring them together and terrorize the free peoples of the world. Rumors are rife in Duria of a new threat rising near Neptaris as that great Freecity fights a bloody war against Daredonia. Goblins, giants and their kin lurk at the edges of society, inexplicably throwing themselves into conflicts across the world. And even more strange rumors hint of lands as yet undiscovered across the supposedly Endless Ocean, where orcs sail ships armed with great steel weapons and mysterious humans speak with the power of their minds.

Meanwhile, on Aurea, the corpse of the Great Empire festers and rots. What was once the shining height of the glory of Man remains a place of chaos as if the Dark Times never ended. While raiders continue to pick the bones of the Great Empire along its fringes, an ancient evil has risen to dominate Dallea and threaten the lands beyond. A great army of giants and their goblin slaves has risen in the deep valleys of the Antasian Mountains, ready to spill out into the fertile lands of Man beyond. On the frozen rivers of Kadach, minotaur slaves have risen up against their orcish masters and established their own bastion of freedom, however harsh and bloody that freedom is. And the Ivory Queen has ascended the Dragon Throne in Dracia, claiming the the Heretic Emperor as her god and his Empire her birthright.

The Fourth Age is here. And it needs heroes to guide its destiny...

Welcome to the Feyworld Campaign Setting. Feyworld has been through a lot over the years and I’m starting to feel how professional authors feel when a place “lives” for them. Since Feyworld’s birth in 1996, I’ve run many different games, but I always return to Baltheron to explore some as yet undiscovered corner of this world with my fellow players, who deserve as much credit for the richness of this world as I do.

Feyworld was originally designed for use with the Dangerous Journeys Multi-Genre Role Playing Game, written by Gary Gygax. My first journey through this world took place back in 1996 in the kingdom of Koramia. The campaign ended with the defeat of the Empire and of Lun Dorak in a dragon-borne raid on the Dorakian capital of Davalor. After a hiatus while I re-worked some of the finer points of Mythus, Dangerous Journey's fantasy genre rules, I started a new campaign in 1999. This time the setting was the Great Empire, far away from Koramia's troubles. In the Mabean Marches, the adventurers were forced to deal with a coven of witches undermining the government and ended up bringing peace to the region. The campaign ended abruptly with a large tribe of orcs rampaging across the countryside.

After the Mabean campaign, Mythus was starting to lose its appeal to me. The game system was extremely good and fit my style of gaming, but the editorial errors mixed with the fact that it was no longer being published eventually dragged me away from it. I ran various games and Feyworld started to collect dust. Then Wizards of the Coast published the 3rd edition of Dungeons & Dragons. Filled with the sort of stuff I’d come to love when I first started role playing, 3rd edition brought me back into the D&D fold. After running a couple of campaigns in the Forgotten Realms, I decided that it was time to convert Feyworld over to D&D.

For my third Feyworld campaign, I moved the action to the eastern half of the continent, in far off Valduran. An old enemy from many previous campaigns, the Manslayer, had risen on Feyworld and was hatching a plan to conquer it as he had conquered so many campaign worlds before. Numerous NPCs and former PCs came to Feyworld, if not as major players, at least making cameos in the group’s adventures. The campaign concluded with the death of the Manslayer. A villain who had foiled PCs in my campaigns for over a decade was finally dead. Many, many storylines, some even from those previous campaigns in other worlds, came to a close.

The fourth Feyworld campaign saw a return to Paeldain and Koramia. With the world in the desperate throws of the Dark Times, the heroes worked to survive in a once-noble city overrun with gangs and factions striving for what little resources remained. Their quest eventually took them into the University District, where the tortured souls of those murdered by an orc invasion still haunted the abandoned streets.

After several more years hiatus and a move to North Carolina, the fifth Feyworld campaign started in September of 2010 with an almost entirely new group of players. This time, the campaign was based in the Freecity of Neptaris at the dawn of the Fourth Age of Man. Described as a cross between Game of Thrones and Babylon 5, the campaign focused on the adventures of a group from the Explorer's Guild of Neptaris as they worked to navigate the complex politics of the ancient city and help those people they could (usually for good coin). Eventually, they inadvertently became involved in a war between Neptaris and neighboring Daredonia, manipulated by the mysterious Dark Sheaf (a.k.a. Dark Corncob).

A sixth campaign, this time using GURPS 4th Edition as our rules-set, was based in the rising nation of Dracia, formerly part of the Great Empire. A dark Queen, Magdalena of House Vtalasav, had the nation in her ever-tightening grip as a group of prisoners escaped from the death-pits of the Colosseum of Kzerna stirred rebellion against her. Thought lasting two years, the campaign wrapped up before our heroes could face the Apostate Queen and unravel the deeper mysteries of time that were dogging them throughout their adventures.

And now... a seventh campaign is being planned, this time with a return to Feyworld's roots: Mythus, the fantasy module for the Dangerous Journeys Multi-Genre Roleplaying game! Stay tuned for more updates as the wiki is expanded and improved during the planning of this new, epic campaign!

So as always, strap on your sturdy broadsword, memorize your hermetic incantations and give homage to Orchus for good fortune!
Wild and mountainous Trogesva is the westernmost Comitat of the Vojvodina of Inalt Antova and the northernmost Comitat in all of Dracia. The region is dominated by the Challieann Mountains rising in the north, which rapidly descend to the valley of the Trogesh River, from which the Comitat gets its name. It is bordered on the east by the Comitat of Galorva and to the south by the Vojvodinae of Boljova and Mijloc Antova. Though heavily populated in the southeastern reaches of the Comitat, Trogesva is increasingly wild and underpopulated in its western reaches: some settlements in the far west can only be reached by barge along the Trogesh River through the thick and dark Trogesh Wood.

The fortified town of Kragonik, mid-way through the region on the Trogesh River, is the seat of the Comitat. The Boljovan Road enters from the south and crosses the Kragonik Bridge before departing northward high into the mountains on its way to Medalam in the Vale of the Two Kings, while the Trogesva Road leaves through the eastern gates of the city to connect with Wessen, the seat of Galvorva to the east. Much of Kragonik is built up around the massive and ancient Kragonik Bridge, which also serves as the central market for the town and surrounding region. The town is known for its crafters and crafting guilds, particularly pottery made from clay harvested from the banks of the Trogesh. Its tailors are also known to be highly skilled, particularly those apprenticed under Master Zahari Janiček of Janiček’s Outfitters. Nobles and wealthy merchants in the region crave Janiček’s designs and there is often a month-long waiting list for special and custom orders. The town is dominated by the worship of Kratos Steelhands, God of War, though Minos the Cockerel is certainly not wanting for adherants. Kragonik is ruled by the Pârcălab Răzvan of House Zabšinac, a cousin of the Voievod Cyril XIV and current de facto head of the Trogesva branch of the House. Răzvan is famous for his personal martial skill at Tournaments throughout Dracia and beyond, particularly at the Jousting List. Ironically enough, Răzvan may perhaps be even more famous for his devout worship of Orestea the Chalice, the goddess of rains. As such, he works hard to ensure democratic processes dominate the political landscape of the Comitat, to the point that he does not often find a need to exercise his rights as Pârcălab. His detractors (mostly from outside Trogesva), see this as a means to shirk his duties so that he can spend more time on the Tournament circuit. His adherents recognize that the Comitat essentially runs itself, with commerce and law adjudicated fairly, with little outright rebellion among his subjects.

Despite Kragonik being seat of the Comitat, the city of Rozenitsa lies some fifteen miles downriver from Kragonik, along the Trogesva Road. Rozenitsa is one of the few true cities in northern Dracia and is known as much for its art galleries and theatres as it is for its dangerous evening streets and almost non-existent guard. Rozenitsa is a wild city in a wild region of Dracia, representing both the worst and best of what Dracian culture has to offer. As with most major settlements in Trogesva, the city is dominated by the worship of Kratos Steelhands, though Minos is still a powerful presence among the merchants of the city. The spice trade, particularly turmeric and ginger, are the basis of much of the city’s wealth. The Bȃn Bogomil of House Zabšinac rules from Vár Myška (Castle Mouse). Bogomil is the eldest son of the Pârcălab Răzvan and is known to still be a bit rash and disrespectful of his father, though he is generally well-liked in the city and, despite being a dedicant to Kratos Steelhand, he effectively implements his father’s tendencies towards more democratic governance in the city.

Aside from Kragonik, there are three other towns in Trogesva: Salovo, Telmi and Sarvona.<noinclude>
