- King Kregimar of Neptaris dies and is succeeded by his son, Ikthiorn of House Ikthian. King Ikthiorn is poisoned within three months and is succeeded by his young son, Agramen of House Ikthian in 113 N.C.

- King Gremoran of Neptag is crippled in a fall from a horse and was forced to step down by Neptag law. The only remaining male heir to House Ikthian is determined to be a half-elven man by the name of Orris, in exile in the Arisian Forest. The search begins for the heir to the Neptag throne.

- Orris of House Ikthian is found in exile in the Arisian forest and is crowned King of Neptag, despite the fact that he had neither visited the city before nor spoke the language. the First Ecumenical Council is called to determine who should serve as Regent. Joandar, Rector of the House of the Quill and himself half-elven (though raised by his human family), was chosen to serve.
