- Corvos, son and heir to deceased Cambrecian King Basran Sugurd, ascends to the throne of Cambrecia under the watchful direction of his Regent, tutor and surrogate father, Pontifex Ionnanes II, re-establishing traditional kingship in Cambrecia after decades of unpopular Kings appointed by the Zetian Emperor. This is considered to be the end of what has become known in Cambrecia as the Long Discontent.

- Legate Zemarchus Comitas of House Gabinius besieges the city of Neptaris and takes it in four weeks The subsequent massacre, known as the Pacification of Neptaris in the Empire and the Fortinight of Screams in Neptaris. The legendary Neptaran military leader, Marshal Hadrag of House Markos is subsequently executed.

- The Treaty of Neptaris is signed by Androcles of House Zetar as a condition of his release from imprisonment in Neptaris so that he could return to Zeth to be crowned Emperor. The treaty released the city from Imperial control and promised that the Great Empire would never again attempt to subjugate the city.
