Mission Statement

It is the purpose of Ordo Invicta to provide dependable physical, moral and tactical support in the defense of Aquilonia, her King, the Barony of Baione and House Maxtentius. To that end, we will support one another in all endeavors and against all adversaries, both personal and professional.

OOC Mission Statement

The primary purpose of Invicta is to provide an enjoyable environment for our membership and to contribute to the overall quality of our server of choice. To this end, we seek to promote role playing within and without the guild while excelling at PvE and PvP play. Furthermore, we seek to remain at the forefront of adventure on our server, to not only provide greater experience and ability to our members but to promote the enjoyment of others in Age of Conan.

Tenets

  • No member shall bring permanent injury against his fellow within the House.

  • All soldiers of the House must honor any contract with a client that does not violate any other Tenet.

Directives

The First Directive

Have fun! Members who fail to comply with this rule will be publicly flogged.

The Second Directive

As long as Invicta is over your head, what you do reflects on all of us. That pretty much sums up everything else below.

Roleplaying Guidelines

All members of Invicta are expected to follow the server policies established by FunCom and remain “in character” in /say and /yell. That means that “leet speak” is prohibited in all public channels. Though members are encouraged to create backgrounds and establish a specific personality for their character, this is by no means a requirement for membership. We’re not RP elitists, we’ll accept anyone as long as they at least make the attempt to remain in character in public channels.

Try to avoid speaking "Out of Character" (OOC) in /say and /yell, but if it becomes necessary, use markers or brackets to indicate you are speaking OOCly. When possible, use whispers if you must convey OOC information to a single individual.

/Party chat is generally considered OOC (i.e. there's no need for brackets), unless someone in your party initiates IC conversation there. If there are non-Guildies in your party, please explain this when they join the group, as many other guilds do it differently.

Guild Chat Guidelines

All members are asked to remain “in character” in guild chat, using brackets when you must speak OOC in guild chat. The guild storyline for this is that Invicta was given an emblem with a rearing white stallion on it by the priests of Asura that allow for long-distance communication when touched. Each member is given an emblem to facilitate this communication.

Participation Guidelines

Members of Invicta are expected to log in to their characters at least once every 15 days. If there is a situation where you need to be gone for longer than that, please post a notice on the forums and you will not be kicked. Recruits (Aspirant Rank in-game) will be removed from the guild after 15 days of not logging in without notice. Full members of Optio rank or higher will be demoted to Legionnaire after 15 days of not logging in without notice and will be removed from the guild after 30 days. If a dismissed member] later returns, they will be re-invited into the guild and promoted to the rank of Recruit (Aspirant) or Legionnaire (Vassal).

Forums Guidelines

All members are expected to join our forums and are encouraged to participate in discussions there. While participation is not a requirement, you should at least attempt to review our forums at least once a week for any important announcements or plans that are being discussed there.

Behavior Guidelines

When you are playing with others, you represent the other members of the Guild. All members are expected to play honorably and respect other players. Your RP may not be particularly honorable or friendly, but you should never be involved in griefing, corpse camping, or ninja looting. Doing any of these things may be grounds for immediate dismissal.

A Note on Elitism

This goes hand-in-hand with Behavior, above, but it needs to be clear. It is our purpose to encourage roleplay in others, not to attack those who do not wish to roleplay. We will welcome fellow players who are at least respectful of roleplayers, even if they elect not to roleplay themselves. Though you shouldn't feel compelled to roleplay with individuals that you do not enjoy roleplaying with, neither should you publicly deride the roleplay of others or their choices.

Loot Policy Directive

If an item is an upgrade for you, even if you're a level or two low for it, roll need. There's no need to ask, just click the button. The timer on loot in AoC doesn't leave much time for discussion.

If an item is not an upgrade, feel free to greed it.

Obviously, if you're a tank and a cloth drop comes up, you shouldn't be rolling need. Same if you're a mage and armor shows up. Use your head and be fair when you choose a button to click. Command is very firm about this guideline. If you need something that you cannot use, just because you want to auction it off, expect Command to come down on you hard for it.

For epic loot in endgame raids, we use a loot reel system, as described in our raiding forums

This loot policy applies whether you are traveling with guild members or not. Obviously, if your party leader or group leader indicates an alternate loot policy, you will follow those rules.

PvP Directive

Those who wish to participate in PvP are very much encouraged to do so, but attacking others without cause is severely discouraged. Obviously, on the battlefield, you'll attack and be attacked, but attacking another player to steal a harvesting node or mob or just for kicks isn't acceptable. We're not bandits or mass murderers. Killing mortal enemies, the target of sanctioned contracts, individuals on our private KOS list and those who are attacking you or a guildmate, defending allied guildmembers and defending people questing in Aquilonian lands from random attackers are perfectly good reasons. And under no circumstances do we corpse-camp. Though if you are ganked or corpse-camped, calling in your guildmates to teach the guy a little lesson is not only allowed but encouraged!

The Invicta Raiding Group

Those who wish to participate in Endgame Raiding with Invicta are very much welcomed to participate. It is our objective to create a stable, well trained, well geared group who is focused on raiding progression for our guild and any Friends of Invicta who seek to join us for our Raids. Invicta members who wish to raid need to follow these procedures:

  1. Sign up for the Invicta Raiding Group by posting in this thread. This group includes both members of Invicta and Friends of Invicta.
  2. Sign up for specific raids on the Raid Calendar.
  3. Participate in at least 1 raid every 2 weeks. If you need some time off from the game for RL concerns, just post that you need a Leave of Absence in the Barracks Room Wall forum.
  4. Follow the orders given during raids from the raid leader. Intentionally or repeatedly doing so is grounds for removal from the Invicta Raiding Group and possibly Invicta altogether, depending on the severity of the violation. This includes abiding by decisions on loot drops. Any discussion, argument can be brought to Command for discussion on the forums.
  5. Give preference to Invicta raids when other raiding opportunities arise. While we encourage our members to enjoy themselves raiding with other guilds, members of the Invicta Raiding Group will NOT Raid with other guilds during Invicta raids and will not get themselves on a lockout timer that prevents them from Raiding with Invicta. To remain a part of the Invicta Raiding Group, you need to have at least one character available to raid with us and actually raid with us.
  6. Work to improve our raids through crafting materials for use in raids, whether potions/consumables, armor, weapons or gems. Members of the Invicta Raiding Group are expected to work towards Grand Master in their skills and make those skills available for use to members of the raid during raids.

Preference on invites to Invicta raids will first be given to those who sign up for the raid, followed by members of the Invicta Raiding Group, followed by other members of Invicta and Friends of Invicta.

Public Discussion Guidelines

When you are posting to public forums as a member of Invicta, speaking in OOC chat or whispering others OOCly, remember that your actions represent every other person in the guild. We ask that you avoid flame wars; feeding forum trolls; actually being a forum troll; using racial, enthnic, religious or sexually-oriented slurs and so on. It is strongly recommended that you take the High Road in OOC whenever possible. If you get killed, ganked, corpse-camped or whatever, let your guildmates know, but please don't complain about it on the official forums or in the OOC channel. Obviously, if you're called out on FunComs forums or OOC, then feel absolutely free to respond.

We're not looking to dictate what you can and cannot say here, so the guildeline on public discussions is a bit looser than others. In some cases (like making a racial or sexually-oriented slur), you might get kicked without a second glance. In other cases (feeding the forum trolls), you'll likely just be politely asked to cool off a bit when posting on forums. Just remember the Second Rule...
