Promotion to To become a Recruit, the character must submit to an IC and OOC interview by a member of the Command Staff.

Overview This is the lowest rank in the guild and is the rank given to all new guildmembers. A recruit is promoted by a junior officer or member of Command. Recruits will not be granted items from the guild bank (though they should feel free to make deposits, if they wish). Responsibilities To become familiar with the guild, attend and pass a Recruit Review by the Master-at-Arms and find a division to join.

Superior Optio

Promotion to Promotion to the rank of Legionnaire is granted by a junior officer.

Overview This is the rank of full military members in the guild. The primary responsibilities of a Legionnaire is to know how his class works in a group, to ensure those of inferior position in his unit are well equipped and to contribute to the health of the guild as a whole. Each Legionnaire will be granted a "unit rank" based on the unit's chain of command (as determined by the unit's Centurion). Those ranks are (in order of precedence): Optio, Tertius, Quartus, Quintus, Sextus. Legionnaires can only be removed from the guild by an officer and will usually receive one warning from Command before they are removed (in extreme cases, this can and will be ignored, for a particularly grevious violation of our Directives).

Superior Centurion

Promotion to Promotion to the rank of Optio is granted by the unit Centurion.

Overview A unit's Optio is the second-in-command of a unit, as determined by the unit's Centurion. Promotion is based on the criteria determined by the Centurion, under advice from the Commandant. The Optio is expected to act in his Centurion's place in the absence of his Centurion and to ensure the members of his unit are equipped and operating efficiently.

Centurion

Division White Stallion Brigade and King's Guard

Superior Commandant or Commander

Promotion to Promotion to Centurion will be determined by the division's commanding officer, in coordination with the existing Centurions and other members of the Command Staff. Promotion to Centurion will only occur when there is an open Centurion position available (either through guild growth or loss of an existing Centurion). Though those of Optio rank will typically be first in line to receive a promotion to Centurion, there will be times in which a new recruit or Legionnaire will be automatically promoted to Centurion and given his own unit (typically, this will occur only when someone is known to the Command staff as being an effective leader in other games we've played in and brings several friends of his/hers into the guild with them).

Overview At the Centurion rank, the responsibilities start ramping up. Centurions are primarily responsible for leading their unit in the field, promotion of members within their unit and ensuring members of their unit are equipped and operating efficiently as a group, in addition to the responsibilities of the Legionnaire. Centurions establish the chain-of-command in their unit (Optio, Tertius, Quartus, Quintus, Sextus) and their decisions on that chain of command are final. They must also choose a unique name for their unit, subject to approval by the Command staff (something that is ICly appropriate... "The 1337 PvPers" is not acceptible). Centurions also coordinate with his Commandant in a variety of capacities, particularly recruitment and identifying potential problems within the guild.

Overview A member of the Command Staff, the Lady is responsible for organizing guild events, public events and ensuring guild members are aware of the events being sponsored by other guilds/people. This doesn't mean lower-ranked members cannot sponsor events... quite the opposite, sponsoring events is very much encouraged. But the Lady's main focus in the guild is promoting and encouraging RP.

The Lady is also responsible for being aware of the specifics of crafting in Age of Conan, ensuring our guild bank is stocked with raw materials and distribution of those raw materials to our crafters for guild projects. Right now, that focus is on our guild city, but as we get more crafters and explore crafting in Age of Conan, this will expand to including all of our various crafted needs. The Lady should also be active on the FunCom crafting forums and convey that information to the guild through the Trading Post forum and in-game. Finally, the Herald is also responsible for coordinating and/or conducting interviews for new Recruits.
