Overview

The first King of Neptag in southern Duria, Ikthios was a lieutenant of the settlement's founder, Zarakos of Taranio. Upon Zarakos' death in 33 NC, the settlement's lead sage Anesthos the Younger gave a test of one hundred questions and declared that young Ikthios was the only one to answer all one hundred correctly. It is said that Anesthos admitted on his deathbed that he had faked the test... the questions had no answers, how the contenders answered was the primary factor in deciding Neptag's first king. Though the title of king was not considered hereditary at the time, Ikthios is considered the founder of House Ikthian.

Ikthios was succeeded as King by his son, Aerolon in 55 NC, who was elevated by popular acclaim. It was Aerolon who formally established House Ikthian as a royal house, backdating its foundation to his father's elevation.
